Template:TalkToo
Provides a Talk link in addition to the main namespace link, if a Talk page exists for this subject.
Usage
No named parameters.
- First parameter is the subject name to link to.
- Optional second parameter is the label to use in place of the subject name.
Examples
Giving a page which has no talk page will result in a normal link being offered
{{talkToo|Development Team}}
will show
Development Team![]()
If a talk page exists for the given subject, a link to the talk page is appended, eg.
{{talkToo|Multiple Character Sets Design}}
gives:
Multiple Character Sets Design![]()
You can alter the label in the link by passing an optional second parameter:
{{talkToo|Multiple Character Sets Design|Multichar Design}}
gives:
Multichar Design![]()
The Talk page will not be detected for templates, since Talk pages for templates reside in the 'Template_Talk' namespace, not in the 'Talk' namespace.
{{talkToo|Template:TalkMaybe}}
will just show:
Template:TalkMaybe![]()
even though the talk page Template_talk:TalkMaybe does exist. The same applies to talk pages serving other namespaces, such as 'Special' or 'User'.
Note that the default page to use if no parameter is given is Main Page, ie.
{{talkToo}}
will provide:
Main Page![]()
